25/04/2010	New WCL School opening in New York New York City will soon be host to a new private school, World Class Learning Academy, New York, offering a cutting-edge model of education that reflects the international character of the City itself. Called the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), this highly-respected, internationally-recognized curriculum is used in over 900 schools in 58 countries worldwide. World Class Learning Academy, a school opening in September 2010 on the Manhattan’s Lower East Side, will offer the IPC as the centerpiece of its learning program initially to children ages 3-11 (Pre-K through 5th Grade).

30/01/2010	Road Safety Week Last week all Gharaffa Campus students took part in a variety of activities to raise awareness of Road Safety issues. These included a presentation from The Traffic Police, talks by a traffic advisor, quizzes and fun activities. The theme was’ holding hands – Being Safe’.

04/10/2009	***Seasonal Flu Vaccinations - Important Update The Supreme Council for Health has confirmed that children will only be vaccinated for seasonal flu if parents sign a consent form.

30/09/2009	School Closure Update and Seasonal Flu Vaccination information The Supreme Education Council (SEC) hosted a meeting yesterday for private schools in Doha. SEC officials reiterated the precautions that schools need to take to guard against the spread of H1N1 infection and to make the school as safe and as health an environment as possible. We have followed the SEC advice and put a full range of preventative measures in place. It was confirmed at the meeting that schools will be opening on Sunday 04 September 2009. There are many rumours circulating about additional delays, but the information we have received from the SEC is that school will reopen next week.

27/09/2009	Seminar and Presentation Cancelled I regret to inform you that the two programmes scheduled to run this week at the Rayyan campus have been postponed until further notice. This is due to the school closure directed by the Supreme Education Council The two programmes are: Monday 28th Helping your children to Learn Seminar Tuesday 29th Secondary Curriculum Information Evening We will certainly reschedule the curriculum programme as soon as possible, but the first programme will depend on the availability of the speaker.
26/09/2009	* SCHOOL CLOSURE * The Minister of Education has issued a decision to close all schools in Qatar until 04 October 2009. CISD will be closed to all students until 04 October. No children will be permitted on the premises during this time.

28/04/2009	School Review Published Our first learning focussed School Review was carried out in February 2009. The summary of the Review has now been publsihed and illustrates the many strengths of our school as well as recommendations for further improvements in the quality of learning.
26/04/2009	IPC Regional Conference The International Primary Curriculum Regional Conference was held at CISD on 24 / 25 April 2009. More than 90 international delegates attended.
